Aisling Bea

Aisling was born March 16, 1984, on the island of Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's top-rated and well-known comedians. The comedian appeared alongside Stephen Fry on QI. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea is an Irish actress writer and comedian. Bea's career began in 2011 as a comedian after she appeared in small roles in Irish and British TV series starting in 2009. In 2012, she started to regularly appear on sketches and sitcoms. After winning an award in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to appear regularly on numerous panel shows for which she has become a fixture. In 2016 through 2017, she served as the team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats and is a frequent contestant for the spinoff 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents include Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan. She has a younger sister, Sinead. In 2012, she was the second female to receive the So You Think That You're Funny award. Bea was presented with the award in memory of her father. Aisling O'Sullivan, whose real name is as Cliodhnadh Aisling was born in Kildare town, which is located in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet, who took his own life when Bea reached the age of three, was an sufferer of self-harm. The news of his passing at 13 years old. In 2017, Bea published an article in The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family. She also she adopted the stage name Bea to pay tribute. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) were brought up within the home of Helen Moloney, a teacher and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. They were obsessed with racing and horses. Bea began her career as tourist guides at the Irish National Stud. But she realized her true passion was doing and not racing.
